Once when Lady Gaga herself discovered the talent of the young Filipina singer named Maria Aragon, her name rose to fame in various media. And now, Aragon takes another step as she sang in front of the British audiences especially that the royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton were there.
Maria Aragon who is a half Filipino and half Canadian was chosen to sing the national anthem of Canada on Friday for the significant celebration known as the Canada Day. She is just 10 years old.
The ceremony for Canada Day celebration was successfully held in Ottawa’s Parliament Hill. There were thousands of people who attended the event while they had been able to witness Maria’s singing performance. Citizens gathered in Ottawa being the capital city of Canada.
Looking back, the young Maria Aragon was recently featured by the famous Lady Gaga in one of her Twitter posts. A link of a certain video of Maria Aragon performing one song from Lady Gaga’s recent album entitled “Born This Way”. The video of Aragon turned viral afterwards.
YouTube views were estimated to reach even billions. In this cause, the young Filipina singer finally made her way to make her dreams at hand. She rapidly gained lots of fans both in local and international even at her young age.
In fact, the young singer made it to a point to have a duet performance with the popular Lady Gaga during her Toronto concert previously. Aside from that, Aragon was also featured in a well-known television shows aired in America namely “Good Morning America” as well as “The Ellen Degeneres Show”.
The popularity of Maria Aragon continues to bloom that even big political personalities like the Prime Minister of Canada known as Stephen Harper went to the house of Maria Aragon in Winnipeg just to see the young Filipina singer face to face.
