Philippines Shamcey Supsup leads Ms. Universe 2011 online poll

Filipinos are always on full force for a great cause. And with the upcoming 2011 Miss Universe pageant to be held in Brazil, they are now exerting more efforts to make sure that the countries representative, Binibining Pilipinas Universe Shamcey Supsup to occupy a slot for the semi-finals through online voting.

In the latest update taken from the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, that was announced in Bandila,the recent result shows that Shamcey had earned 25% of the total number of online votes. This results however do not came from the official Miss Universe site,instead the figure that was shown came from Missosology.org.

In digit, it was reported that she had garnered 1,578 votes on the Miss Universe Online Poll.

She was then followed by the Puerto Rican beauty Viviana Ortiz who had received 745 votes so far.

The voting mechanics allowed the users with a registered email address to cast up to 10 votes every day.

Furthermore, in the online poll which was spearheaded by television giant Telemundo, Shamcey had also earned the top spot with votes reaching to 1,288,817.

The online voting for People’s Choice Online Poll will be available until September 11.

With the kind of support that Shamcey had been receiving from her fellowmen, she expressed her warmest gratitude to them.

According to her, her journey towards the prestigious pageant is like a roller-coaster. However, with the Philippines support, and for the Filipinos, she still had all the strength and mentioned that she will be doing her best for the Ms. Universe 2011.

Despite the pressure, the University of the Philippines Magna Cum Laude and 2010 Architecture Licensure Examination Topnotch in one of her interviews said that she was advised by her friends and in fact the 2010 Ms. Universe 4^th runner-up Venus Raj to enjoy and seize the experience.

Aside from currently leading the online poll for the pageant, Shamcey was also chosen along with 4 other beauties to be the Amb(–foul word(s) removed–)adors for Operation Smile which is just one of the many activities done by the Ms. Universe organizer.

Shamcey shared that she had felt satisfied to be able to help other people. And she had seen that she was not just on the pageant to compete but as well as to be an instrument in helping others.

The official result of the online vote taken from the Official Miss Universe Website is said to be announced during the pageant and coronation night to be held September 12.
