Fresh from his victory last Saturday against Mexican boxer Rafael Marquez, Japanese boxer Toshiaki Nishioka who is currently holding the Super Bantamweight championship belt might be facing the number 4 pound-for-pound boxer in the world, Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire hopefully by next year.

Bob Arum, the CEO of Top Rank had said that the fight would take off after Nishioka had his rest.

On the other hand, even before the fight of Marquez vs. Nishioka had took place last Saturday in Las Vegas wherein the Japanese boxer had won in  12-round unanimous decision, Donaire had been eyeing already for the winner of the match to be his next opponent.

Nishioka might be having a rest first before he would be facing Donaire, so instead of the original plan which is a match by January 2012, the fight might take place between May or June next year.

Donaire,28, is indeed one of the best and fast-rising fighters in his generation and he was even eyed to possibly follow the steps of the pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao.

Earlier, reports came out that Juan Manuel Marquez had also expressed his interests that there could be possibilities and chances that he would be facing Donaire in the ring also in 2012.

If ever, next year would be a very busy year for Donaire.

Meanwhile, Donaire on October 22 would be defending his Bantamweight belt against the Argentine boxer Omar Andres Naravaez at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

After the historic fight of Gabriel “Flash” Elorde way back long time ago, it was said that Donaire is the first reigning Filipino Boxer who would be fighting again in the place called as “The  Mecca of Boxing”.

Furthermore, Donaire’s fight against Narvaez might be his last bout for the said weight level, for he had already been expressing his interest to climb to a much heavier weight in order to rest from a strict diet.

All eyes to Donaire, will he be the first to defeat Narvaez as he wear his ‘pink gloves’?
