It was indeed her night. It was the night that she was destined to conquer the universe as she bested the other 88 candidates who were competing also for the much coveted Miss Universe crown.
Miss Angola Leila Lopes, as the world’s one of the top and most prestigious competition where ladies with the combination of brain and beauty celebrated its 60th year, had finally brought the first Miss Universe crown for Angola.
Lopes at 25 excelled over the candidates from Ukraine, Brazil, Philippines and China who joined her in the Top 5.
During the evening gown presentation,nbc.com, the channel that had been airing the competition live had conducted a fan voting system that allows the viewers across the globe to give their rating and point system for each contestants and each competition category including the swim wear and long gown. Leila Lopes, Miss Angola 2011 had earned the top spot for the fan vote via nbc.com, and she was followed by Philippines Shamcey Supsup who landed 3rd runner-up for this year’s competition.
It was estimated that one billion viewers around the globe watched the competition held in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Other winners were Olesia Stefanko from Ukraine who earned the first runner-up spot; Priscilla Machado of Brazil took the second runner up while Lou Zilin of China got the 4th runner-up.

Meanwhile in the Philippines, Filipino netizens after Miss Angola was crowned as the new Miss Universe had went to micro-blogging site Twitter and there, they posted their observation that Leila Lopes of Angola is almost similar and shares the same qualities of the 2010 Miss Universe 4th runner-up Venus Raj. The two had similarities especially on their physical features.
